  • Risos Dolphins enroute Catalina Island…..

    Hello F&F,
We arrived here at 4th of July Cove at the Isthmus of Catalina. The wind was a bit much for bow and stern anchor \”fire\” drills
with too many boats around at Big Geiger, discretion being the better part of valor, we picked up a mooring here. We see many friends the place is packed. We sailed over most of the way, winds to 20 knots or so. We also saw 3 pods of dolphins including our first ever sighting of \”Risos\” Dolphins. They are motled and very white!…… Rare, but are seen here in So. Cal.

The day was warm, the winds nice and Cindy and I are snugged in for the night.

Write to either of our boat emails. We should be able to pick them up easily here

  • 3 Months and Counting!

90 days to go, lots to get ready before we finally cast off.

  • Arrival at Santa Barbara Island……

Hi guys, we left at around 11:15 this morning, finally got off the dock.
Cindy saw a shark while Scott was asleep off watch and Scott saw a Humpback Whale while Cindy was asleep off watch.

We are here with one other sailboat and two small power boats. Arrived at 5 pm. Cindy is cooking dinner, the wine is cold, its gray and cool, but calm and nice. I\’m sure we will go for a hike tomorrow sometime. The sea lions are everywhere, this place really does sound like a Dog Kennel…….:)

Drop us a note, we will check the mail a few times/day.
    Love and Hugs,
    Scott and Cindy

  • Catalina Island – Big Geiger Cove

Hello to all our friends checking in with us.
We are currently in Catalina Island enjoying a cool but relaxing day here at Big Geiger Cove. (Home of the Blue Water Cruising Club). Decided not to dive this weekend, too cold looking a day
and the water is still 59 degrees!……..
    Regards,
    Scott

  • New Solar Panels

Our new friend Joe Boyle from SV \”Zialater\” suggested these new panels to dramatically increase our passive solar power supply. At 525 watts, they provide up to 17 amps in 24 volts.
